[While it wasn't a voice he somewhat recognized, he quickly noticed who she is based on appearance alone. So he smiles a bit, before waving back.]

You've got it! You were one of the people helpin' us on the mountain, right?

[Not that she was hard to miss while she was flinging boulders around, at least.]

[So her guess was right. He was Red. From a different world maybe? Certainly a different time. And he sounded more like Ash. She stifles a laugh and approaches.]

I was, yes. My name is Saori, the Daughter of Wind and Rain.

It's nice to see you again. I...confess it is a little bit odd, knowing that there are two of you, now.

[Oh, right. He does laugh a little bit at that. Yeah, that's pretty true.]

You're talkin' about the younger Red? Yeah, I was really surprised when I came back and he was here, too. We're pretty different though, even if we have the same name and stuff.

But still, s'pretty neat.

I am, yes. You're really really alike, as far as looks go. It's like he could've grown up to look just like you.

[She rolls her shoulders in a faint shrug.]

But that's beside the point. I should have introduced myself sooner, but circumstances being what they were at the time...I didn't even think about it. My name is Saori, the Daughter of Wind and Rain. It's nice to meet you properly, Red.

Hey, that's fine. It's nice to meet you too!

[But that does make him laugh, thinking about it.]

But maybe! That'd be pretty cool to see. Though, that'd definitely make stuff more confusing around here.

What's the age difference like between the two of you? I know he's...ten.

If he's ten, then about six years! So not too much, I guess.

And obviously you both train Pokemon. Do you have the same ones?

Nah, not the exact same ones! I know he doesn't have a Poliwrath, but we both have a Pikachu, Snorlax, and Venusaur. I dunno what his other pokémon are.

Neither do I. I just know the three I've met. I'm...not even sure what a Poliwrath is, but I know maybe six of them total so that isn't entirely surprising.

[She taps her finger on her chin thoughtfully.]

The three he has, that...something that we saw in the mountains, Ditto, and Zap...dos? Some sort of electrical bird.

Poliwrath is uh...

[Better than describing it, he grabs the poké ball and let's him out! He's pretty interesting, to say the least.]

This guy! But yep, those are two of 'em! Zapdos is right. He's a legendary, too.

Well he looks like quite a fighter...

[A laugh, and she nods]

The Malnosso turned me into one. But, Legendary? There are stories about them?

He is, yeah!

[A pretty strong one, at that.]

That sounds like something they'd do... but yeah, kinda! I mean, it's nothing really elaborate... just stuff like how strong the lightning it creates is! Kanto doesn't really have a lot of stories about legendaries. Not as many as the other regions, anyway.

Well, I guess the comparison isn't too far off then. [Still, stupid Malnosso.]

There are stories about me too, back home. It seemed like the Malnosso did something because it was appropriate for a change. Honestly, I'm surprised I wasn't turned into a turkey or something.

Really? Well hey, at least you got stuck as a giant lightning bird instead of a turkey, yeah. I dunno what a turkey even is.

It's a big, fat bird that can't fly. People eat them on holidays a lot in some places.

[It's good, he should try it sometime.]

Anyway. I wanted to thank you for the help the other day. The other you is...a little quirky, but he's a sweet boy. And it really bothers me to see him hurt.

[There's a beat and she just has to ask.]

That vile man, though. Who is he?

But you don't have to thank me for that! I was happy to help. I couldn't just leave him there, after all.

[Though, that does get a laugh out of him, albeit an awkward one. Yeah, he knows exactly who she was talking about.]

That was Giovanni. He is, or at least in my world, was the leader of Team Rocket. He's not the same one that I know, though.

[Saori's jaw tightens slightly, tensing. Red had mentioned Team Rocket before...]

He's a villain, isn't he? A...gangster or something?

Something along those lines, yeah. He was behind a lot of shady stuff back home. Selling other trainer's pokémon was probably the bare minimum of stuff that he did.

Why interact with him at all then? Mortals like that are dangerous. Obviously. Is there something I'm missing about their relationship?

I'm not sure, actually. I dunno why he was hangin' out with him. You'd have to ask him about that.

If anything, maybe he feels responsible for him? [But he doesn't really know, and he shrugs.] That's the only thing I can guess, anyway.

[Saori sighs, shrugging as well.] I suppose I will. I just don’t…like…bringing up things like that with him. He’s young, and I just want him to keep on being able to be young. Strong or not.

Yeah, that makes a lotta sense.

[They really were too young for a lot of the things that happened, but... that's what being a pokémon trainer is about. ]

Maybe he'll tell you on his own then? Just gotta give him time.

Maybe. I'm certainly concerned about him getting involved in things like that...

[With dangerous people. Nevermind that she introduced him to Vegeta...]

Yeah, I would be too, but he can also handle himself pretty well, I'm sure! So I wouldn't worry too much about it.
